Coach Bill of TriFloyd with Bill Floyd Coaching, has become re-certified with both USA Triathlon, Level II, and USA Cycling, Elite Level

November 11 - 13, 2018

Colorado Springs, CO, Coach Bill attended the Summit Conference for certified coaches of USA Cycling at the headquarters for USAC.  By attendingand taking part in any and all of the CEU's, Coach Bill receives 40 CEU's which satisfied the requirement for re-certification and is awarded the Certificate of Distinction on his webpage at the USA Cycling website.

The 10th annual of the 8 MILE SWIM, from Clearwater to Tampa, Florida was, once again, a sell out as this open water swim has become a favorite of both the beginner's as well as the world level open water swimmers.  Several swimmers who swam this swim have gone on to swim the English Channel, Straights of Gibraltar, Swim Around Manhattan, Tampa Bay 24 Mile Marathon Swim, and the Catalina Channel, several of these being in the revered top 30 worldwide.

October 23 - 25, 2018

Phoenix/Tempe Arizona, Coach Bill attended the International Symposium for Certifed Coaches to gain 15 of his required 20 CEU's, every two years for re-certification.  Coach Bill is usually beyond the required 20 CEU's as he has always been up-to-date and knowledgeable in the areas, of triathlon, especially at the Pro, Elite and Olympian levels.

Attended the USAT International Symposium where Coach Bill receives 15 of his required 20 CEU's every two years for re-certification.

November 13, 2016

Coach Bill has entered the 2016 USA Triathlon Long Course National Championships, being held in Miami, Florida, with the famous run portion of a 13.1 mile run through the Miami Zoo! This a 1/2 Ironman distance triathlon of a 1.2 mile lake swim, 56 mile bike course, and a 13.1 mile run.

October 21 - 22, 2016

Coach Bill will be attending the 2016 USA Triathlon International Symposium for Certified Coaches in Atlanta, Georgia. All coaches Level II and higher are required to earn 20 CEU's (Continuing Education Units) every two years towards their re-certification. This Symposium will give to the attending coaches 15 of those required 20 CEU's. This symposium will have speakers from all over the world and the lectures will be intense on learning higher levels of coaching skills, techniques, drills, high technology involvement, and other areas that sets us apart from just being a coach. Qualifying each us to coach at the Olympian and Pro level triathlete.

November, 2015

Coach Bill attended the Level I/Elite Level USA Cycling Certifed Coach Clinic; working daily from 8:30a.m. - 5:30p.m., and then after hours study and discussion, in addition a take home Power Point Presentation and a 50 question exam. Coach Bill, already qualified to coach an Olympian, believes this additional certification will give to him the final needs to bring to the Pro level triathlete and/or cyclist the higher levels of coaching in power, strategy & tactics and reading their intentions both on short and long term developmental and race day preparation.

September, 2015

Coach Bill has entered the USAT National Long Course Championships scheduled for 2016, at the Miami Man 1/2 Ironman race.  Coming in the top 25, Coach Bill will qualify for TEAM USA, then would go the following year, 2017, to Canada for the ITU World Long Course Championships

TriFloyd has acquired new expo tent to use at races, events, and expos's.  The size is a 10' x 10' and is a straight pole which will be stronger on windy days.

November 9, 2014                  

 TriFloyd had their first sell out on their world wide challenge of their annual 8 MILE SWIM event.  While this is not a race, but a challenge to finish it, the difficulty is rated a 9, our of a scale of 1 - 10.  This year, all who started  finished the entire distance of the 8 MILE SWIM.   

September 11 - 14, 2014          

Coach Bill attended the USAT International Symposium for Coaches in Las Vegas, NV, earning 15 CEU's required towards his 20 CEU's needed for re-certification. He will be able to use these hours to coach new and innovative techniques to his clients.

TriFloyd was successful in attaining three new sponsors:  BOOM! gels whom we had as a sponsor for over 7 years and regained them, again, Fruit Wood Standup Restaurant - a unique concept with a healthy food environment in a fun setting of standing at a wooden bar, outside, and Energy Bits - a unique all food protein in pill form with 40 in one serving.              

January - February 2014

Coach Bill took a highly comprehensive six week course from Stanford University in Physiology, titled Journey Through Life, for CEU's for USA Cycling. Coach Bill earned the Certificate of Distinction for grading above 90% and earning the top number of CEU hours available, 15. He will be able to use the information learned for further guiding his athletes to higher levels of excellence.

December, 2013                      

TriFloyd has purchased the instrument and the supplies for Blood Lactate Testing as well as an underwater Video camera for Video Analysis for underwater as well as for the run and bike.  These new devices will enable TriFloyd to reach out to the triathlon community for higher level of coaching and assessments as to how and when to move forward to gain more strength and higher speeds.

Coach Bill is attending from October 25 - 27, 2012, the International Symposium for USAT Coaches, in San Diego, CA.  At this Symposium, Coach Bill will earn 15 CEU's (Continuing Education Units), and will hear some of the finest coaches in the world on a focused itinerary.  At TriFloyd with Bill Floyd Coaching Camps/Clinics and Levels Programs for 2013, Coach Bill will bring this new and innovative material to his coaching and his client base.

In 2012, TriFloyd added four Camps/Clinics bringing our total to 10 for the year. Each one is in a Periodized order format, and, are position for the Elite to the "Newbie". The Repair Clinic and the two Bike Handling Skills are important to attend as they help even the savvy bike purist become a stronger, keener, and more adept cyclist.

August 18, 2012

Coach Bill drove to Burlington, VT, to compete at the USA Triathlon National Championships. With over 600 TEAM USA members, and over 400 All Americans, 2 time TEAM USA member, Coach Bill, competed hard, and fast, but the elements on the course were too much to overcome, at least this time. While finishing 44th, Coach Bill did say all of the time he put into training in the past three years was worth the effort, time, and initiative. There are other problems that existed that he could not overcome. An experience too great not to go, and he encourages all to go at least once.

January 12 - 15, 2012

Coach Bill attended the USA Cycling Level II Clinic, in Clermont, Florida, at the National Training Center. Coach Bill learned a higher level of handling skills, along with anatomy and physiology, plus racing strategies and tactics at the Elite and Category level. Coach Bill will be able to bring to his client base and to a higher level of triathlete, new approaches to become stronger and faster. Coach Bill is slated to attend the Power Training Clinic in Clermont, Florida, in December, 2012. Coach Bill will then, also, be a Certified Coach in Power Meter Training, which, helps to advance the triathlete to National and World ranking, but also, the Elite and Pro triathlete, and Category advancing road cyclist.

November, 2011

Coach Bill competed in the Beach Running World Championships, a sanctioned USATF event in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Coach Bill ran to a 2nd place in the 1/2 Marathon.

Coach Bill finished 29th at the ITU World Championsips in Beijing, China, on and along with his son, toured many of the sites in Beijing, like the Great Wall, Forbidden City, and the Ming Tombs. Coach Bill encourages all triathletes to work and train hard at least once to earn the right to go to the World Championships. The experience is one that willgive a lifetime of memories!

Once again, the 8 MILE SWIM has been deemed a success and everyone of the swimmer's finished the full 8 miles. TriFloyd is already getting requests for registration for 2011 since there are only 20 slots, per year, available.

Coach Bill placed 19th at the USA Triathlon National Age Group Championships, and has accepted a position on TEAM USA to go to Beijing, China, for representing the United States in the World Championships for triathlon, Olympic distance.

Coach Bill has just finished a webinar showing the road to London, for all Olympian hopefuls, and the calculations that are needed to formulate a mathematical strategy and tactic formula to win the opportunity to represent the USA at the Olympics in 2012, in triathlon.

TriFloyd deemed the 8 MILE SWIM as so successful, we have decided to hold it again in2010. The limit of swimmers will still be held at 20, because of the length, logistics, and the pure test of an individuals strength for that distance.

Coach Bill has initiated an 8 Milke Swim on November 15, 2009, for his clients and subscribers to his worldwide TriFloyd Update. The swim will be limited to 20 athletes, along with approximately 10 volunteers, a safety boat, several kayaks, ands a observatory vehicle following the swimmers. Coach Bill holds several events each year to help promote the sport of triathlon, endurance, and his coaching practice.

Coach Bill attended the USA Triathlon National Age Group Championships in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on August 22, 2009. Though he flatted in the transition area, and it took an extra long time to get his gear for changing it, he continued on and still finished 27th in the Country.

Coach Bill Floyd just attended the USAT's International Symposium for Coaches where he earns 15 CEU's, plus keeping up-to-date with the latest trends in athlete development, testing, skills, drills, and nutrition. Coach Bill listened and learned from Jim Ryun, first high schooler to break the four minute mile, John Naber - multiple gold medalist at the 1976 Olympics in swimming, Anarctica Mike - ran a marathon in sub-22 degree weather, DeanKarmazes - ran a 211 mile road race, and other distinguished speakers from around the world and the US Olympic Training Center.

Coach Bill was invited to be a part of a limited number of USAT Coaches attending a Mentorship Program at the U. S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Co., September 30 - October 5, 2007.

Coach Bill will assist in coaching the Olympians, learn higher level of skills and drills, and will be shown what to look for in possible future Olympians.
